At last! solar
panels are now a viable financial option in the UK
There are 2 types
of solar panels...
Water
heating solar
panels - These
use the solar
energy to heat your water with evacuated tubes, generally for washing,
bathing, and swimming pools. These can be installed by most solar panel fitters, plumbers and DIY kits also available.
These solar tubes harvest the sun's radiation,
which the earth is exposed to. Generally circulating a fluid from the solar
collector to a tank. Latest solar technology allows you to use your existing
hot water tank in most cases, by heating water 'directly', making for a more
efficient and less costly type of solar installation.
This type of solar panel technology is 'flat
panels' or evacuated soalr tubes.

PV
electric solar panels - The Mercedes of solar panels,
which produce electricity, to contribute towards your energy needs
for your home.
Generally more costly, PV solar is definately a very good long term investment opportunity, because solar installed in the 1960's is still working today. The electricity generated can be used immediately by your domestic appliances, or by sold to the National Grid, when the power is not being used.

Your house value will increase, possibly covering the costs of solar panels, if not more. A recent survey by MORI found people are willing to pay up to £10,000 more for a home built to high environmental standards.
Many people feel that it is the correct time to invest in solar, mainly because of escalating UK energy pricing, secondly because they feel it will add value to their property due to ‘Energy Assessments’ and green taxation around the corner or thirdly because of global warming. The fact is though, for the first time in history, it is now financially viable to install.
