Micro generation systems

A rooftop revolution is in progress across Europe

Micro generation systems include solar panels, which can easily be catergorised as PV electric panels and solar heating. Solar panels, are installed by savvy property owners and investors turning to micro generation to relieve or supplement their energy needs.

With the failing traditional energy markets, the British people are deciding enough is enough, and smart investors are deciding to generate their own electricity and hot water.

The golden age of cheap enery is over. With a dwindling North Sea suplies and 80% of our gas supplies from Russia, resulting in further future rises.

What the UK energy industry is saying:

British Gas Managing Director - Mark Clare, said:

"the industry had no choice but to pass on the large increase in wholesale Gas prices to the consumer". Mr Clare said "The wholesale price forecasts for 2006 are something like 50 percnet higher than a few months ago. FORWARD MARKET PRICES ARE PRETTY UGLY FOR EARLY NEXT YEAR AND BEYOND". "All suppliers are going to have to put prices up in 2006, that's inevitable". He added "Higher Gas prices means higher Electricity prices too, because Gas fuels 40 percent of the UK's power stations".

Department of Environment - Michael Meacher MP, says:

"The reserves in the world's super-giant and giant oil fields are dwindling at an average rate of 4-6 per cent a year.... The conclusion is clear: IF WE DO NOT IMMEDIATELY PLAN TO MAKE THE SWITCH TO RENEWABLE ENERGY - faster and backed by far greater investment than currently envisaged - then civilisation faces the sharpest and perhaps most violent dislocation in recent history."

"One thing is clear, the reality for Britain's future is going to be cold for the poor, and expensive for the rich. People 'in the know' are preparing for the worst, which will inevitably come"

Stuart Lovatt 2009

Micro generation systems for your home

Incentives for domestic micro generation systems are now realistic enough to provide a realistic return on micro generation investments. With the reality of Britain's energy crisis looming, the 'people in the know' and investors are preparing for the worst.

Apart from relief of not being hit by the looming longer term energy shortfall, with grant aid incentive, the biggest pay backs are added value to your property. With property valued on average 10% more with these micro generation systems, you can see the obvious benefit, apart from lower or no electricity bills.

Solar panels

A single 2kW solar panel system seems insignificant compared to a 1000 megawatt nuclear power station, but According to a Energy Saving Trust (EST) report says home micro generators of varying types including Photovoltaic's, Wind and Water Turbines will provide the UK with 30 - 40 % of it's electricity needs by individual homes contributing to the National Grid. Our Nuclear Power Stations at the moment only contribute 20%. A large energy blackhole is emerging, and micro generation is the only reliable way to plug it, realistically.

Generating your own power and selling (exporting) your surplus will relieve the National Grid as well as contributing to it

If you doubt the power of small scale investment, think computer power. Thirty years ago computers were mainframes and home use was non existant. Today there is vastly more computing power in peoples homes than in large scale installations. Micro generation systems are starting to take off, and government help could turn the trickle into a torrent. Building generators in their hundreds is costly, just as home computers were in 1980. Building them in hundreds of thousands is cheap.

A rooftop wind or solar generator will pay for itself within 7-9 years(depending on your own energy consumption rate). With energy pricing soaring through the roof (excuse the pun), this type of investment is becoming more and more attractive to domestic users.

In the UK, the government introduced subsidies (grants). The German model, which it to pay micro generation systems over the odds for every kW (kilowatt-hour) they produce. Ths is far more promising. The key is simplicity. The Technology must be simpler with little or no paper work. Distributed computing is now used every day for applications like the SETI programme and other things, and is seen as the way forward. Distributed power generation will not be far behind.

Britain has the opportunity to lead the world with micro generation, while undoubtely helping to combat the global warming and climate change problems.

With the relief of not being hit by the looming energy crisis, with grant aid incentive, the biggest pay backs are added value to your property, domestic micro generation is smart move for smart investors.

A building programme of renewable energy sources, including micro generation systems, is the only way the UK will solve its energy crisis. People 'in the know' are already preparing, their homes and families for the biggest shake up in energy use and conservation since world war II.

"Oil and Fossil Fuels was a one time deal"

"Next generations are being condemned BACK to pre-industrial living and subsistence farming, with fierce wars for remaining resources including water, timber and arable lands. This will only intensify the carbon warming and global warming effects."

The one thing that international bankers don't want to hear is that the second Great Depression may be round the corner. But last week, a group of ultra-conservative Swiss financiers asked a respected English petroleum geologist living in Ireland to tell them about the beginning of the end of the oil age.

They called Colin Campbell, who helped to found the London-based Oil Depletion Analysis Centre because he is an industry man through and through, has no financial agenda and has spent most of a lifetime on the front line of oil exploration on three continents. He was chief geologist for Amoco, a vice-president of Fina, and has worked for BP, Texaco, Shell, ChevronTexaco and Exxon in a dozen different countries...Read On >>

Solar energy and solar panels

Solar energy is a general term for the electro-magnetic radiation emitted by the sun. We can capture and convert solar radiation into useful forms of energy, such as heat and electricity, using the latest solar panel technologies. The technical feasibility and economical operation of these technologies at a specific location depends on the available solar radiation, which in the UK, is 60% of that of the equator.
